Sienna, a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, has worked in the hospitality and non-profit industry for the last 13 years between South Sudan and Kenya.
While in South Sudan, Sienna was the general manager of residential and office compounds where business people and government officials lived and worked. During that time, Sienna volunteered at the Orphanage Home of Juba. It was while working with 69 little ones at the orphanage that Sienna found her passion. Sienna decided then that she wanted to change her career path from hospitality management to community development with a focus on women and children.
In 2013, Sienna joined with friends to open the American School of South Sudan, which is currently operating their early childhood education program. Sienna is also the Board Chair of a society in Nairobi, Kenya called the Nancy Ellen Crooks Foundation (NECF). Sienna is working to scale NECF so the organization can have a greater impact on the children of Kenya.
As the Director of Community and Social Affairs at Lady Askari, Sienna is helping to develop the company with a specific focus on creating community partners and developing our capacity-building programs to ensure we are providing women within the security industry with the skills required to rise within the industry. Sienna is a wife and mother of two energetic boys.
